Morphemes work by being stand alone words, or by connecting to other morphemes to create and form complete words. Grammar is a set of rules for producing logical communication. Grammar works by having rules. Although there are many rules when dealing with grammar, the most basic ones are using sentence structure and parts of speech, which can and mostly always include nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions and conjunctions. Syntax is the study of sentences and phrases. Syntax works by putting words together in a form people can understand what the person is trying to say. For example, instead of saying "Holds baby the ball The" one would say "The baby holds the ball". Semantics is the extraction of meaning from words and phrases. Semantics work by people draw meaning from words, phrases, and utterances. For example, When one hears the word "flower", we immediately know that a flower is a plant.
