The basic sequence of development stages consist of conception(a child in conceived by the man and woman in the stomach of a woman), Zygotes(the fertilized egg, enters a 2-week period of rapid cell division and develops into an embryo), Embryo(the developing human organism from about 2 weeks after fertilization through the second month of the pregnancy), Fetus(the developing human organism from 9 weeks after conception to birth), Birth(the woman give birth 9 months after conception). Teratogens are viruses or drugs that can damage an embryo or fetus. Teratogens are a reason why woman cannot drink alcohol during pregnancy. Teratogens can cause miscarriages or stop the growth of the fetus. Newborns have many reflexes they are born with, such as the rooting reflex. The rooting reflex occurs when something touches a baby's cheek and the baby turns toward that touch, open their mouth and begin sucking on it. For example when a newborn needs to eat they root for a nipple.
