Another reason would be because it's not exactly fair to all the other artists. It's not fair to the other artists because they are putting in time and effort to actually sing to their fans, while this artist is kind of wasting their talents. Lastly, the artist needs to be able to feel like they are really engaged with the crowd, and this is possible by actually using your voice and seeing all the fans smiling faces.
