What does the Mitochondria do to produce a ton of energy

All energetic substances reach the mitochondrial substrate through specific vectors through metabolic changes within the cytoplasm. After conversion to acetyl coenzyme A, glucose enters the mitochondria during glycolysis to be used in the Krebs cycle, and fatty acids are transported into the mitochondria by carnitine, which are eventually converted to acetyl coenzyme A. After entering the substrate, amino acids are converted to acetyl coenzyme A.

Each Krebs cycle, which begins with an acetyl coenzyme A in the mitochondrial substrate, produces three molecules of nicotinamide, adenine dinucleotide, one FADH2 molecule, and one GTP molecule, in addition to CO2 and H2O. These energy carriers are used in the electron transfer chain to produce ATP.
