A student developed a model to use in science class. The model consisted of a game that was designed to explain mechanisms that operate in evolution. The game consisted of placing a large white square and a large black square on the floor. One student then tossed 100 small white circles
and 100 small black circles on each of the two squares on the floor. Two students were then asked to pick up as many circles from each square as
they could in 30 seconds. The students then had to count the number of black circles and white circles that they had picked up from each square.
What was the purpose of the game?
To recognize the importance of a standardized taxonomic system
To analyze how natural selection produces changes in populations
