In the book the authors state that the free energy of the complete oxidation of glucose is ΔGo = -686 kcal/mole glucose for the reaction: What is the free energy change ΔGo for the complete oxidation of glucose in through glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation, as written here: Both are complete oxidation of glucose, but why are they different?
