could you imagine what life would be like without the declaration of independence? invented in 1776 the declaration of independence was a document that the continental congress agreed on july 4th, 1776,
the declaration of independence announced that all 13 american colonies will no longer be part of the british empire. although there was a more unmanageable, chaotic past before the declaration of independence was signed and this led to many problems.

the history of the declaration of independence

it all started, many centuries ago with many colonies treated unfairly by great britain. to be more specific the grievances that the colonies were treated with were things like overtaxing, no trial in the jury, etc. according to a credible website page “history. com” and an expert-answered question on “e. notes. com”, it states that the colonists were overtaxed, and also states the reasoning behind the creation of the declaration of independence. which was due to many complaints from the colonists which then led to the founding fathers to collaborate to write a declaration to king george himself.

the day of freedom

because of this, the colonists now have freedom from the great britain colony, and is also known as the birth of the country as we all know it as america! the declaration of independence is still used even today. it created independence from a very limited and almost powerless government in the continental progress. according to the famous quote by the declaration of independence “we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” this allows all u. s citizens to live freely without any threat of tyranny, protect our rights as citizens, women now have been given every opportunity that men are now given, and accesses the bill of rights. as this image is the colonists fighting for their freedom from great britain, which also represents the birth of america.

the downfall to the declaration of independence

however, there is a downfall to the declaration of independence. after the declaration of independence was signed there was only one condition for it to be official and that was the revolutionary war. another expert-answered question on “e. notes. com” lists many cons with the revolutionary war such as economic depression, division over the war, financial law, and more. meaning things like congress not being able to pay for supplies, individuals losing hope, congress raising tax for supplies while citizens were scarce on money, and many soldiers sacrificing their lives for freedom. although there was an end to this horrific experience, america finally gained their independence from great britain.

in conclusion, the declaration of independence was a major part of our history, that has brought positivity to america, and freed all american citizens from the tyranny of great brittan. despite, many deaths, and the lack of supplies and money, during the revolutionary war, americans kept on, keeping on. as we should all value our freedom each and every day that the declaration of independence has given us.
