What is the meaning of kindly as it is used in The Lightning Thief?

Half blood in the book "The Lightning Thief" refers to the characters who have one parent who is human, and the other is a god. Percy Jackson for example is the son of Poseidon but his mother is just your average woman. Half Blood= Half god, half human.
