Longitudes are the north-south, latitudes go east-west. You can remember this easily by imagining the Earth as a large person with their head on the north pole - the measurement from top to bottom is how long the person is (LONGitude), the measurement around the waist is how fat the person is (fat rhymes with LAT, so latitude).
