Armenian Genocide happened during WW1 and was committed by the Ottoman Empire against the Armenians. It was systematic mass murder and even cleansing of more than 1.5 million people. It was done because Ottomans were afraid that the Armenians were align with Russia, which at the time was their main enemy.
