The satellite is being accelerated towards the Earth by the gravity of the Earth, but because it's moving sideways too quickly, it keeps missing the Earth. So it keeps falling, but not getting closer. This is what it means to "orbit". In orbit you have two forces balanced, gravity and centripetal acceleration

because the two particles have an equal charge, the charges will cancel out and give the atom an overall charge of 0. so, if at atom has 35 protons in the nucleus, we could expect it to have 35 electrons orbiting that nucleus.
