The immune system keeps record in the form of white blood cells, namely B-cell and T-cell for every microbe they have defeated after first attack. These cells are called memory cells. Memory cells recognizes the microbe which tries to enter the body. The microbe gets destroyed by producing antibody. This type of immune response is called adaptive immune response.
