Students are studying Newton's laws of motion. Their teacher, Mr. Rollins, has challenged them to build an air car like the one seen here. The group that makes their car go the greatest distance will be the winning group and receive a prize! Students attach a balloon to a straw and then tape the straw to the top of the car they have designed. The balloon is inflated and then released: the car and the distance the car travels are recorded (time is not recorded). After the first trial, one group doubled the size of their balloon. The balloon is doubled in size for four consecutive trails and they notice a relationship in their data. What is that relationship? All BUT ONE could apply to describe the relationship.
