During the middle ages, Churches roses into power and managed to obtain high position in the government. They acted as some sort of advisors for the King before the king made their decision.

Due to this strong affiliation, Many kings agreed to create legislations to spread the religion within the empires' territory, and making Christianity as national religion.

This decision was really controversial. A lot of people disagree with this. They believe , the church should not have that much power over the citizens. On the other hand, there were also that support government involvement in speeding Christianity. This created division among the people during the Middle Ages
