the surface area of a cube is 600cm^2
what is the new surface area of the cube if the length of each edge of the cube is tripeled?

the answer is 5400^2 but i'm not sure how this is the answer? ?

Area is square units so if length is tripled (times 3), area is times 3^2 or 9  

so 600•9 = 5400 cm^2
