1. suppose you are doing direct sampling to estimate the size of a population of fish in a lake. your first stage consisted of randomly sampling 100 fish, tagging them, and throwing them back. in your second stage you randomly select 50 fish from the lake and observe 2 that are tagged. what is your point estimate of the population size for this lake? (no need for calculating a standard error – just give the point estimate)
