Graphs provide a visual way of representing data. typically, the purpose of a graph is to make it easier for the audience to understand and interpret the data. therefore, it is important to understand how to read a graph!

to find an example of a graph, go to and search “graph”. if you want a specific type of graph, you can search “line graph”, “bar graph”, etc. if you want to find a graph that relates to a particular topic, you can include the topic in the search (“gas prices graph”).

*right click on the picture to copy it, click in the discussion board thread, and then press down the “ctrl” and “v” button on the keyboard at the same time to paste the picture.
make sure to give the source credit! under the graph, include the website address and an author (if provided). you will learn how to properly cite information using apa format in a future english course.
*identify the type of graph.
describe the information represented by the graph. what is the story that the graph is telling?
