Acar of mass 1250kg accelerates up a road at an angle 15°, increasing its speed from
3m/s to 20 m/s, while travelling up the road a distance of 110 m, against frictional
resistance. if the coefficient of friction is 0.35 calculate, using both d'alembert's
principle and the conservation of energy method: -
• the tractive effort between the driving wheels and the road surface
the work done during the period of acceleration
• the average power developed
complete the exercise by comparing and contrasting each method.
