Researchers are interested in whether the heart rate of long-distance runners differs from that of other athletes. They randomly select 8 long-distance runners and measure their resting heart rate and obtain: 45, 42, 64, 54, 58, 49, 48, 56. The average resting heart rate of athletes in the general population is 60 beats per minute. Is there sufficient evidence to support that long-distance runners have a different resting heart rate than other athletes?
