There are two boxes on a balance. There are an unknown number of marbles in the left-hand box, and an unknown number of marbles
in the right-hand box.
Initially, the balance looks like Figure 1.
When 22 marbles are taken from the left-hand box and placed in the right-hand box, the balance
tips over and looks like Figure 2.
When 14 marbles are then taken from the right-hand box and placed in the left-hand box, the
balance tips over and looks like Figure 1 again. Suppose you subtract the original number of marbles in the right-hand box from the original number of marbles in the left-hand box.
Find the difference between the largest possible result, and the smallest possible result, from this
subtraction.
