The lengths of the sides of a triangle are in the extended ratio 5 : 7 : 10. the perimeter of the triangle is 88cm. what are the lengths of the sides?

So you know that altogether the ratio adds up to 22. just do 88/22 to find what 1 is. then just multiply  88/22=4
5=5x4 which is 20
7=7x4  which is 28
10=10x4 which is 40            the answer is 20 cm, 28 cm, and 40 cm.

If there are four friends then each would get, 1.25 or 1 1/4. so this is how i solved 5 ÷ 4 = 1.25 . hope this ; )
