as x approaches 2 from the left and right, the graph of f(x) increases without bound or  grows infinitely large in the positive direction. so the limit evaluates to infinity.



   

as x gets larger and larger in positive direction, the graph seems to approach a constant value (horizontal asymptote) of 1.



   

the graph, as x gets larger in the negative direction, the graph oscillates around y=3. the oscillations get smaller and smaller; we can assume it approaches 3 as x gets larger in the negative direction.
