One consequence of climate change is the rise in sea level as the oceans warm and as land based ice melts and increases the volume of the oceans. the volume of the earth's oceans is 1.35 x 10 km3, and the average depth is 3668 m. the volume of the greenland ice sheet is 2.85 x 10 km. using the data tables, calculate (a) the rise in sea level expected if the ocean temperature increase by 2.0 °c, the current maximum increase targeted by the un intergovernmental panel on climate change and (b) the rise in sea level expected if the greenland ice sheet melts, state any assumptions made.
