Part I: Create Your Study Space
For this assessment you have the option to either perform a makeover of your existing study space or to create the ideal study space for you. Remember to include all that you have learned about an effective study space in this lesson.
A quiet space: describe where the perfect for you study space is located.
Furniture and lighting: include specific details about furniture and lighting and placement of these items.
Accessories: include specific details about accessories you would like to have and placement of these items.
Music: include a playlist of three to five pieces of appropriate music for your study space.
Options for showing your work include
creating a makeover video of your new study space
creating a PowerPoint or graphics document that serves as a blueprint of your space
creating a media sharing file that details your new study space
other original ideas you may have for showing your learning
Depending on which option you choose, this is an opportunity for your collaborative assessment. You may want to work with other students in the course to create a digital story, photo essay, or glog (graphics blog) that describes your study space, has images of that space, and features accompanying music. Open the Collaboration Project Assessment Instructions for more information.
Part II: Personal Reflection
Before completing this lesson, what good elements did you already have in the study space you currently use? After completing this lesson, what did you need to change the most about the study space you currently use? Explain how you think the study space you have now created will help get you in your learning zone.
Be sure to write your reflection in complete sentences. Include part of the question in your answer to be sure it is in complete sentences. For example, if the question is “What is your favorite color?”, your answer could be “My favorite color is blue.” Your reflection should be at least four to six sentences in length.
