The three components of personality include expressing personality, learning expression, and the adolescent years. Expressing personality helps personality develop because it includes temperament, or the inherited characteristics that shape how we interact with our world. Psychologists view temperament and environment as the most influential components of personality. Learning expression includes experimenting with new ways to express feelings. This allows the child to learn from the reactions of others and begin to mirror back what is and is not acceptable expression. The adolescent years includes an adolescent who feels a deep interest in and emotionally identifies with a particular style of music to express it physically.
