How did the roman republic influence the american form of government

The basic idea of voting for representatives was one of the biggest things the American government took away from the Roman republic, also, the slightly changed version of democracy (the Greeks "invented" democracy but the Romans changed/added on to it) was a big influence in the creation of the American government.
