Zenda's psychology curriculum required her to study an individual's personality type using the process of interviewing. she selected evan, her brother's roommate, as her test subject. the highlighted points of her research were that evan is a law graduate, who is a musician in his spare time. he is an independent person who paid his own way through law school. his friends get annoyed with his impulsive behavior. according to the riasec model, zenda classified evan under the type of personality dimension.

The RIASEC model, also known as the Holland Codes, or Holland Occupational Themes, are a system used now to classify people into a set of personality groups that would help to understand in which niche of the working fields a person would best fit, and become successful, based on that person´s personality traits. This model was created by John L. Holland, a psychologist and up to this day, the model is still in use.

As such, there are 6 groups of personality traits under which several professional fields would be grouped, and where people would best thrive. However, one thing that is clarified by the creator of the model himself, is that these groups may overlap and do not strictly cluster a person rigidly, as people may display more than one of these big group traits. The groups are: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and finally Conventional.

In the case of Evan, and given Zenda´s discoveries on interviewing him, he would best fit under the classification of Artistic, given that these people tend to be emotional, more independent, and more given to work with both ideas and things. Although given that Evan´s having studied Law, would place him also within the group of thinkers, most of Evan´s other personality traits point him to fit better into the group of Artistic and thus would thrive better on the professions typical of that set.
