Most Americans in the 1930s and 1940s did not know that President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was severely handicapped from polio and had to use a wheelchair, just as many in the 1960s did not know that John F. Kennedy had extramarital affairs while in the White House. Journalists at the time censored themselves due to respect for the office and the man. Which is better: not knowing very much or knowing a lot about the personal lives of presidents? Does what happens in a politician's life affect his or her ability to govern? Have our most effective presidents also been the most exemplary? Explain.

What happens in a politician life has not really been a reason for a successful or unsuccessful leadership. Because everyone has life challenges, it only takes a bold and strong person to keep it's challenge aside and focus on it's leadership duties when it comes to official duties. And I believe that for any man to win the presidential election, such person must have been a strong and bold man. Because the challenges of winning the election should have sharpen the president.

Using Franklin Delano Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy as a case study. This two president are seen as one of the figures that made America popular during their presidential era. Franklin is rated as the best president after Abraham Lincoln, due to his achievement in office. He was the president that helped to stop the word war II. He was the president that helped America during the great depression. He achieved many things for America, even with his life challenges. John F. Kennedy is one of the outstanding president, that is a figure in the U.S politics of today. He is very popular with his civil right act and Revenue act which was enacted by the chambers after his assassination.

Everyman has a life challenging issue and his privacy to such issue should be respected by everyone. It is not the right of the citizens to know the personal issues of the president. It will only be their right to know this, if the president has failed to be in his official duties due to his life issues. That means an explanation should be given to it's citizens, about his absence on official duties.

The most effective president in the U.S so far is Abraham Lincoln. If we check the life of this man, we will see that he also have life challenges that was never known by the citizens, until his death. Lincoln has never told any press his personal life challenges, as he always keep it private to himself.
