Over the past 200 or more years improvements in technology and transportation have drastically impacted the lives of American citizens. Major developments in transportation such as trains, automobiles, and planes made the country and the world smaller allowing easier travel, trade, and sharing of information. Transportation helped to create greater integration of Americans into the global system. Technology has advanced American life in almost every aspect of life education, medicine, the military, government, business, science, and many other areas have been drastically changed because of technology. Technology has led to the increased speed of information sharing and has allowed Americans to connect with one another and the world more efficiently and more easily on a wide range of issues, causes, and goals.
