If you have watched the movie Glory (1989)...
It's about Colonel Shaw and how he commands the 54th Massachusetts Regiment (composed entirely of African American soldiers) to fight for the Union during the Civil War. In one scene, Colonel Shaw approaches one of the soldiers, Trip, and tells him that he's been offered the honor of holding up their flag.
