1. If you were going to perform participant observation, what contemporary culture would you most like to study? What aspect of the culture would you be
most interested in? Remember, "culture" is not the same thing as "country" or
"continent" (ie. "Africa" or "Native Americans" are not cultures.), or "religion"
(i. e. Islam or Christianity, which take on various forms around the globe). If you
are considering a Pluralistic Society, be specific about the cultural group that
interests you (e. g. Navajo, Kayapo, Ainu, etc). (Remember: you can't study past
societies through Participant-Observation, only contemporary cultures). Use your
book to help you find a group that sounds interesting. Spend a little time
researching the culture so that your description is realistie, not hypothetical. Be
sure to cite all sources for your outside research (websites are fine for this
