Explanation:

After United States gained the independence, several factions/parties have different positions regarding how the economy should be run and the type of power that the federal government should have.

At first, the biggest factions in US government was called the Anti-federalist and the federalist party.

The anti-federalist party wanted the US government to maintain the current power of government power as per-written in the constitution. The federalist on the other hand, want to expand the power of central government beyond what's written in the constitution.
