Perception is the psychological process in which sensory input is organized and interpreted into meaningful information. The sensory and perceptual processes work together so that organisms can make sense out of objects or events that appear in their environment. For example, when looking at a cat, one senses a combination of shapes and colors. The mind instantly processes these visual sensations into something meaningful, letting one know it's a cat.
