How did land bridges people migrate around the world during the ice ages?

It allowed them to get to places they never could before, since swimming across an ocean is not entirely an option, and the technology to build bridges had not been invented yet.  This allowed them to get everywhere because of this, that is why the Americas were actually originally populated with people, humans during the time crossed the land bridge between Russia and Alaska following animals to get here.
