Use the map to answer the following question: Map of Alexander the Greats empire. Area stretches from Macedonia and the northeastern top of the African coast in the west through Persia and into the Hindu Kush Mountains in the east. Much of the land is along coastline—Macedonia, Asia Minor, Palestine, and Alexandra (in Egypt) all edge the Mediterranean Sea coastline, the land in Persia lies between the Caspian Sea to the north and the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea to the south. Map also shows routes of Alexanders empire, marked by battles starting with Granius in 334 BC, Issus in 333 BC, and Gougamela in 331 BC. Red arrows indicate that the empire worked from west to south and east.
