Welfare of my society depends on my well being

If i understand your question correctly then this is partially true because usually when you're talking about your own well being, you're refering to your mental well-being. And considering your mental (or physical) well-being both relate and make themselves be the cause of what society eventually depends on in terms of if it will have a welfare system in place or not. The reason for this is that with you being well, both mentally and physically, you can contribute your part to your society so that it can have such a system.
