The reasons for this can be seen in the fact that they can be useful, they seem more ''cool'', the people want to keep pace with the developed world, but also because of the media and propaganda. While this may be nice in a sense of uniting the world, it is also very harmful toward the native cultures, as the younger generations tend to be focused on the foreign one and neglect their own one, so many cultures are on the verge of dying out.
