The risks of inducing negative stereotypes about a person's ethnics, gender, race or culture refers to the Stereotype threats. This term was introduced by the persons named Claude Steele and Joshua Aronson.  

They conducted experiments which resulted in showing that students who are in black in a college were performing worse than that of white students.  

The white students were excelling in all tests when the emphasis is given on race. When it was not, they both performed equally in all tests.  

Stereotype threats are similar to self-fulfilling prophecy.
