Can you think of a time someone made a promise and let you down?

My father promised not to beat my sister to pulp, He promised. I went home after school and found my father beating my sister. Had to call 911.

My grandmother promised to go to sleep instead of sleeping in her chair as she usually does. I came back the next morning and she was still sleep in her chair.
