Much has been written and spoken in woman's behalf, especially in America; and yet a large class of females are, and have been, destined to a state of servitude as degrading as unceasing toil can make it. I refer to the female operatives of New England...who are in fact nothing more nor less than slaves...to a system of labor which requires them to toil from five [a. m.} until seven o' clock [p. m.], with one hour only to attend to the wants of nature, allowed...

...Then too, when she is at last released from her wearisome day's toil,...she must...be subjected to the manifold inconveniences of a large crowded boarding-house...that...will not ensure to her the common comforts of life; she is obliged to sleep in a small comfortless, half ventilated apartment containing some half a dozen occupants each...

Timbre  (/ˈtæmbər/  tam-bər, also known as  tone color  or  tone quality  from  psychoacoustics) is the perceived sound quality of a  musical note, sound or tone. timbre distinguishes different types of sound production, such as  choir voices  and  musical instruments, such as  string instruments,  wind instruments, and  percussion  instruments. it also enables listeners to distinguish different instruments in the same category (e.g. an  oboe  and a  clarinet).the physical characteristics of sound that determine the perception of timbre include  spectrum  and  envelope. singers and instrumental musicians can change the timbre of the music they are singing/playing by using different singing or playing techniques. for example, a violinist can use different bowing styles or play on different parts of the string to obtain different timbres (e.g., playing  sul tasto  produces a light, airy timbre, whereas playing  sul ponticelloproduces a harsh, even and aggressive tone). on  electric guitar  and  electric piano, performers can change the timbre using  effects units  and  graphic equalizers.in simple terms, timbre is what makes a particular musical sound have a different sound from another, even when they have the same  pitch  and  loudness. for instance, it is the difference in sound between a guitar and a piano playing the same note at the same volume. both instruments can sound equally tuned in relation to each other as they play the same note, and while playing at the same amplitude level each instrument will still sound distinctively with its own unique tone color. experienced  musicians  are able to distinguish between different instruments of the same type based on their varied timbres, even if those instruments are playing notes at the same  pitch  and  loudness.

If you are talking about typical sand you would find at the beach or in a river bed here on earth, there are some differences. i would say the first biggest difference is in composition and mineral make up. although the moon is largely made of the same materials as earth’s mantle and surface, the moon experiences very little weathering (no liquid water and virtually no atmosphere). “earth” sand is typically composed mostly of quartz grains. this is because quartz is highly resistant to both physical and chemical weathering. most of the other minerals originally with the quartz are broken down into fine clay and carried away, chemically eroded/ dissolved, or some combination of the two. this usually leaves only the quartz behind, and so most of the time when you see/think of sand, you are talking about quartz. without these weathering mechanisms on the moon, the “sand” (which is likely more silt or clay sized grains anyways) would consist of mostly other minerals like anorthosite, olivine, and proxene.
