Early in chapter 1, the concept of marginality is discussed. Define marginality, and discuss its role in facilitating sociological thinking. In other words, the text suggests that, oftentimes, people that are connected to marginalized groups tend to make the best sociological thinkers. Why would this be true? Also, and conversely, people that are connected to dominant groups
tend to struggle with the sociological perspective. Why would this likewise be true?
