What was the relationship between muslim and christians in the early period of the muslim civilization

during the early periods of islam Muslims and Christians had better relations than they do now.

when the muslims were being persecuted by the idolaters in Mecca they migrated to Abyssinia (Ethiopia), where they got a warm welcome form the ruler, Negus, who was a christian.

due to some reasons The Negus asked muslims as to what their prophet had taught them about Jesus. Jafar bin Abi Talib came forward and recited chapter Mary of the Qur'an. The islamic Isa (Jesus) and the Christian Jesus were very much alike.

So let's put our differences aside and join our hands to bring peace in this world. Either a Christian, a Muslim, a Jew, a Buddhist or anyone else in the end we're all human, and that's what matters the most   ^_^
