Igotta why is there only 2 semesters and 4 quarters and not 4semesters and 4 quarters? 1 quarter for each semester? ? is this a dumb question?

no it is not. i was wondering the same exact thing not long ago!

The definition of semester is a half-year term in school or college. And the semesters are just split up. At the end of a semester there is final exams (in highschool) so if there were 4 semesters, you would need to take multiple finals for each class. Its smart to keep it as 2 semesters and 4 quarters
