Anthropomorphic imagery is when a picture is taken of an object or animal and gives them human qualities or figures.  In my opinion a purpose for this art is to give a fairy tale effect to look like its from a story book, I also think it could be used to make fun of humans in a silly laughable way.

Anthropomorphic imagery is artwork of (usually) an animal with human-like features. In my opinion, because animals are so important in certain cultures (take the Haida with Raven for example), in order to express it through artwork, they could create anthropomorphic imagery/sculptures. Another reason, based on what I learned from the video, could be for religious worship, many cultures have animal gods and even hybrid gods (half-animal, half-human because the human is a personification of the animal) that they might want to represent through artwork, hence anthropomorphism.
