The stories of famous or terrible happenings we<br />e also handed down from one generation to another in the form of songs<br />The songs our ancestors composed were all poetry. There are several reasons wh<br />y the literature of every nation begins with poetry. For one thing, it is easy to reme<br />mber. Then, like a song, it has pleasing or interesting sound and, like a dance itha<br />s strong rhythm. We dance and sing when we are excited. Poetry is specially suita<br />ble for putting excitement and strong feelings into words.<br />It is important to remember that we do not read poetry to obtain information. Wer<br />ead it in order to feel the same sort of pleasure as singing or dancing gives us. Wh<br />en singing or dancing we pay attention to the rhythm and the tune. In poetry, we w<br />ill miss much of the pleasure if we do not pay attention to the rhythm tunefulness<br />of the words. We enjoy it most if we read it aloud and not too fast<br />The passage above is divided into three (3) paragraphs.
