I am a film. On one hand, I had all the ingredients of the spirit of the 1970s. I was shot in a gritty, on-location style by a writer-actor, and I tell the story of a down-and-out boxer who loses his match in a split decision. Yet in a way he wins, because he accomplishes his goal. On the surface, I seemed like a typical 1970s film, with my seemingly somber ending.
