Our city’s animal shelters are overflowing with cats and dogs that are waiting to be taken home with a loving family. There are kittens and puppies, and adult animals that have already been housebroken. There are dogs that can keep up with active families, and cats that are suitable for apartment living. Some of these animals were lost or abandoned, but some of them have never even had a home. With all of these animals available, adopting a pet from a shelter is the most responsible way to add a pet to your family.
What is the author’s position in this essay? What is the reason why? Your answer should be 3 to 4 sentences.
