Let’s apply some of the concepts of good user interface design by making a simple game in Scratch. This game will feature a main character who needs to collect items to add to their inventory. When the character touches an item, that item should get added to a display list. When all of the items have been added, the game should display the main menu. To see an example, check out this game in Scratch (remember to load it into the preview mode for Scratch 3.0): https://scratch. mit. edu/projects/229104401/ Your game should look different from the example project. Use it only as a reference to get ideas and think about how you could make a better interface in your game. Here is what your game must have: Design a main menu screen that the user will first see. The main menu should explain the object of the game, as well as the mechanics (how to control the sprite’s movements, etc.). It should have a start button that begins the game (consider using the broadcast block to trigger a backdrop change). When the game begins, the user should see an inventory list in the upper left corner. Pay close attention to space and scaling. Create the game itself by using several sprites for the inventory items, dragging in the appropriate blocks to detect whether the character has touched an item, and then hide the item once it has been added to the list. Choose how you would like to display the newly added inventory item on the list (Text? Pictures?). When all items have been added, the game should go back to the main menu. When finished with your game, download the project to your computer and submit the file.
