perspective. In art, but mainly in painting, this
term refers to a technique, whereby it is
possible to create the illusion of distance and
depth between objects by applying certain
techniques that involve the use of color, value,
and sharpness of the objects represented.
Atmospheric perspective is the visual effect of
light as it passes through the atmosphere. In this
painting, Pieter Brueghel introduce us to a
snowed village and a group of hunters. You can
feel the portrayed environment, the cold snow,
the storm that is approaching (represented by
the clouds), and the hurry of the hunters to
reach their homes. This is possible because
Bruegel could represent nature and light with
precision.
