In what ways did photography of the post-war era differ from photography of the first half of the twentieth century?

(Caution, I’m only 13) I think post-war, photos would’ve been either very joyous or very saddening. Joyous because people would’ve been excited to have their loved ones back and they were glad to all be together and saddening because people lost loved ones and their lives would’ve been so affected by the impacts of war, they might’ve not even had the same home as they did pre-war. Photos from the first half of the 20th century would’ve had a wide variety, from the Great Depression, as you can tell by the name it was very morbid, to the 50’s , a very fun loving era which brought us some of the most iconic fashions ever.
